With top-notch Sarawakian (and international!) cuisine, art, and culture under one BIG roof with the historic Brooke-era Square Fort at its heart, this is Kuching city summed up!

Since its earliest days, Kuching – the vibrant capital city of Sarawak – has been a hub of cultural, religious, and artistic exchange. From the native Dayaks to the Chinese, from the Malays to the first European merchants, these and numerous others have brought the very best of their cultures and ideas to the Cat City.


RWMF: Fringe, in the true spirit of its host, brings to you the fruit of Kuching’s colourful past all under The BIG Tent– fringe:marketplace at the Kuching Waterfront.


Taste local delicacies – from jungle ferns, tuak or local rice wine, to a vast array of seafood dishes – and take a bite out of Sarawakian culture at EAT, CHIAK, MAKAN, a gastronomic extravaganza organised in collaboration with the Sarawak Restaurants Association. Then, discover the artisans brought to you by the independent Small Town Art Market (STAM) as they showcase a lively assortment of design, live music, and even more good food!


The BIG Tent will also host numerous spaces for talks, public art installations, lifestyle, play-areas, and spots to chill-out and enjoy the good vibes. So swing by between events and perhaps stay awhile to savour the finest that Sarawak has to offer.
